Assoc. Prof. Gizem Melek (Ph.D.) elected as the Chair of ECREA Women’s Network
Radio, Television, and Cinema Department’s Assistant Professor Gizem Melek (Ph.D.) have been elected as the chair of ECREA (European Communication Research and Education Association) Women’s Network.
ECREA is one of the most important and influential organizations in the field of communication. As an international community of expert academics, ECREA consists of 25 thematic units, each focusing on its specific field of communication studies; 3 ad hoc working groups focusing on emerging or underrepresented areas within media and communication studies; and 3 permanent networks representing specific categories of academics. ECREA Women’s Network, on the other hand, aims to make the work of women researchers more visible by revealing the problems faced by all disadvantaged groups in academia, especially female academics, young researchers, and students.
