- What type of scores does the Radio, Television, and Cinema Department accept for students?
- Our department accepts students based on verbal scores.
- How long is the duration of the program?
- The program, affiliated with the Communication Faculty, is a 4-year program. There is also a mandatory 1-year English preparatory education before starting the main program. If you pass the FLAT exam, you can skip the preparatory year and start in the first year.
- Is there a mandatory internship?
- We do not have mandatory internships, but motivated and successful students can do internships in various media organizations, press offices of any organization, and in various media-related positions.
- Is there a mentorship program?
- Yes, our mentorship program started in the Fall semester of 2021.
- Will I need to purchase any equipment while studying?
- During your 4-year education, all kinds of equipment you may want to use (cameras, lighting, microphones, cameras, tripods, etc.) are available for borrowing from Yaşar University Media Center.
- Can we use the studios?
- Yes, you can use the television, radio, and photography studios, equipment in the studios, editing, and multimedia laboratories for practical lessons and projects.
- What is done in practical courses?
- In our classes, you will perform practical tasks related to every stage of media content creation, from the idea phase to post-production (scriptwriting, sound and light usage, shooting, editing, etc.).
- Are there collaborations with the industry?
- In addition to classes taught by expert instructors from the industry, there are many industry professionals who participate as guest lecturers in our courses.
- Where can we work after graduation?
- After graduation, you can find jobs in various media organizations, companies, public institutions, and the media content production units of non-governmental organizations. Digital platforms, radio stations, advertising agencies, public and private television channels, and production companies are just a few examples.
- Are there opportunities for postgraduate or doctoral programs?
- Our faculty offers an English-language thesis-based Master’s program in Communication. Preparations for an English-language Doctoral program are also nearing completion.
- Is participation in national and international festivals supported by students?
- It is very important for us that your films participate in the right festivals during your time with us, especially in your final year. Therefore, we closely follow the participation process of your films in festivals and actively support you during this process. We even organize an international short film festival called CONTACT.
- Have students won any awards?
- Our students who have participated in prestigious international festivals held in various parts of the world, from Moscow to the United States, have won numerous awards both in Turkey and abroad.
